Financial Planning in Winston-Salem

Entrusting someone plan for your financial future is full of risks. Not only do you have to trust that the advice given is accurate and manageable, but you have to trust this advisor with details about a very personal part of your life: money.

When looking for a financial advisor in Winston-Salem, be on the look out for what knowledge and credentials they hold, whether they are a fiduciary, and how they get paid. If we are lucky enough to be on your radar, we’ve included some information below to help your search for these details easier.

Your Financial Advisor

More information on our advisors can be found on our About page.

Unlike some firms that may push off financial planning tasks to junior advisors, any and all financial advice that you receive from Scholar Financial Advising will be handled directly by your advisor who holds at minimum a Ph.D. in finance.

Trust is very important in an advisory relationship. The client not only has to know that they can ask the questions that they want to ask and be given an honest and intelligent answer, but that their advisor is working on the questions they didn’t know they should ask.

This is why we like to have a one on one relationship with our clients. I want to build that personal relationship that cultivates success in a financial plan.

Fiduciary Fee-Only Financial Planning

We pride ourselves in operating a firm that is an independent, fee-only financial planner providing fiduciary advice. There is already so much to worry about when following the advice of a financial planner and working through the motions that the last thing you should have to worry about is whether the advice you are following is truly in your best interest.

As a fiduciary, we are required to provide advice that is in your best interest. This means that we cannot put our interests above yours. In addition, we are not paid any commissions or a cut of sales behind the scenes.

There are no kickbacks for recommending that you buy a certain stock or purchase life insurance. There is no big commission check waiting for me when you purchase an annuity. When you receive advice it’s because I truly believe that it is in your best interest. Period.

We only provide hourly based fee-only financial advice. We discuss your financial concerns and we give you a flat rate proposal to provide you with a financial plan. It’s that simple. No complex fee schedules, calculations, or account break points.
