Time flies when you’re growing a great team!
We caught up with Noah Lewis, Financial Advising Analyst, as he celebrates two months on the team here at Scholar Advising.
Noah joined Scholar Advising at a unique time—just a few weeks before our annual Personal Finance Conference. The timing gave him the chance to be immersed in our firm’s culture right away, interacting with many of our fantastic clients in person from the start. This early exposure provided valuable context for how we collaborate, serve clients, and maintain our high standards.
Daily collaboration has been another cornerstone of Noah’s onboarding experience. By working closely with advisors and support staff, he’s quickly familiarized himself with our processes and integrated seamlessly into the team. This hands-on approach has accelerated his ability to contribute meaningfully, and it’s clear that he has already built a strong command of how we operate as a firm.
Noah graduated summa cum laude with a degree in finance this May and passed his Series 65 exam last month. In this short interview, he shares reflections on his first couple of months on the team, what makes working with our clients unique, and what’s next on his professional journey.
Erin: You graduated summa cum laude with a degree in finance in May. What drew you to finance for your education and career?
Noah: Growing up, I wanted to be an engineer. My dad’s an engineer, so I just always figured I would be an engineer like him.
But in high school, my dad told me he thought I’d be a better fit in finance. So I took a few career quizzes based on personality fit, and personal finance kept coming up as a strong match. So I decided to make the pivot. That’s how I landed here.
Erin: Now that you’re a couple of months in, what is your favorite part about financial planning for our clients?
Noah: I’d say my favorite part of financial planning is definitely the personal impact we have on people’s lives. If you go into something like corporate finance, it can be really cool, but you don’t get to see that personal impact as much.
That’s what makes this role so rewarding. And specifically with our clients, I think it’s the level of responsibility and sophistication they bring to the table. They tend to be very coachable and have their financial lives organized, which makes it easier to help them implement the plans we build together.
Erin: Congratulations on recently passing the Series 65 exam! What are you looking forward to next?
Noah: Next I’m definitely looking toward the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation. I kind of see that as the pinnacle of financial planning accreditations.
I’m working toward that now because I want to prepare myself in the best possible way to serve our clients at the highest level.
It has been such a pleasure having Noah on the team. His dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to dive in from day one have already made a positive impact. From immersing himself in our culture at the conference, to embracing daily collaboration with the team, he has truly hit the ground running. We’re excited to see all that he will accomplish in the months and years ahead.
